Desk-Based Assessments

Historic Building Recording

Historic Building Recording

We work with clients preparing planning applications, large and small, to understand risks to development proposals caused by the historic environment. Understanding that each site’s requirements are different, ISCA offers a range of services to navigate a project through heritage issues, including Desk-Based Heritage and Archaeological Assessments, detailed Settings Assessments and Conservation Management Plans.

Historic Building Recording

Historic Building Recording is required when a planning condition requires that a historic building, either statutorily listed or unlisted, be recorded prior to it being altered, extended, or demolished. In accordance with Historic England guidance, we offer four levels of recording that can be applied. These range from a basic visual record (Level 1), through to a comprehensive analytical record (Level 4). As part of the managed redevelopment of a site, we will work with clients and with the statutory authorities, providing expertise to ensure the best possible outcome.
